30 Days of Biking, Day 20

Day 20The woods are filled with obstacles that looked insurmountable in January. Here’s one of them–a rocky ledge on a steep slope. For the first two months, I walked it. It’s too steep to scoot down with your feet dragging the ground below the pedals. You have to just grit your teeth and try it. Which I did some weeks back, without falling, and I’ve been riding it ever since. Now, strangely, it doesn’t look as bad as it did in the beginning. This is the joy of mountain biking: the impossible becomes possible.
