30 Days of Biking, Day 15

Pardon me if I yawn, but last night was rough: over 120 tornadoes, at least half of them in Kansas. The family weekend getaway remained lighthearted until the Weather Channel reported that my brother’s workplace took a direct hit. We discussed whether it was worse being miles away from the storm or right in the middle of it, but didn’t resolve the question. No one got to bed before 1:00 a.m., and we continued to have a restless night as more storms moved in from Oklahoma.

Sleepiness and 20-40 mph wind gusts made it easy to settle on a short ride for today’s 30 Days challenge. I cycled only a couple of miles round-trip to view some test sharrows installed downtown. On the way back I snapped this photo of a local landmark, Topeka High School. The brilliantly blue sky behind the bell tower is scrubbed clean by last night’s storms.

Tornado season is such a tough time – hope everyone was all right. It is true though that there is never a better day than the one after a storm.

    Thanks for sharing.

Passionate about Bicycling

I don't bicycle for a living, but I do bicycle to live. It's that simple.
