Mr. Spoked's manly arms--caramel topped with vanilla

It’s the height of the cycling season, and that means freaky tan lines.  They’re not something we’d show off at the pool, but we are kind of proud of them.  Any other cyclist anywhere in the world would immediately recognize these as the brand of a fellow biker.

My right leg

The burn line is due to a sloppy sunscreen application on BRAN.

We took the top two photos during a pouring rain on the Shunga Trail, hence the wet skin and goosebumps.

Bicycling shoesThe bottom photograph of bicycling shoes is a substitute for my feet, which I tried to shoot multiple times but the weird blotches never showed up well.  Just imagine blobs of tan wherever you see gray patches on the shoes.  And a distinct line encircling the ankles where the socks begin.  Yeah, it’s strange.

For awhile we had clear chin-strap lines on our cheeks, but those have faded in the past several weeks because we’re riding early in the mornings before the sun gets too high in the sky.

Well…. uh… Isn’t this uncomfortable? Maybe it would help if I made an admission of my own. OK… Well… I’venevershavedmylegs!!!
No. Never have and I still feel like a true cyclist. Still, before I’d blog to the world about faded chin-strap lines, maybe a trip to the store for a roll of 1/2″ masking tape and a tube of bronzer would be in order.

Once a biker, always a biker. You need to come up here sometime and ride the trails with us.

Passionate about Bicycling

I don't bicycle for a living, but I do bicycle to live. It's that simple.
